Ok I am having problems getting this to work.
I can encode everything fine works great. When I burn with fireburner it burns great. I put the svcd in my ge1001p and it doesn;t load when it finally loads it says its a vcd1.1
If i do the encode and tell it not to make images and I burn with ulead it get skippy movie skips a couple of times per second. IF i rip dvd with dvdx it works great but takes liek 10 hours. I would like to use dvd2svcd as it only takes like 2-3 hours to rip. I know its not the media or anything liek that because i use the same media with the dvdx. I always use the highest rate of burn which is 8x could thi be my problem. any ideas would be great. Frewsh install of win98 Se amd 1600xp 512 megs of ddr ram soltek motherboard.

Fireburner has some burning corruptions issues, which you can see while watching the SVCD. I don't recomend it (Mozart)
could you try another burn proggie?
also it is recommended to burn 4x (see Q&A)

WEll i tried updating my aspi to latest using forceaspi then installed VCDEASY cause I have seen it recommended. I set it to burn at 4x using the driver from their driver table. I left cdi checked as I didn't know what that was. IT did not work. it taked forever to load then same vcd1.1 message. I am at a lose. I have also tried nero with same results only program that works is ulead dvd program. but movie is skippy. I don't understand it seem sI am the onyl one with this problem. THe ge1101p is a great player even checked around on the web and yahoo groups and no one else has this problem. by the way also had pbc enabled

does the svcd play fine using powerdvd/windvd on your pc ?
and i presume using dvdx you have created svcds which play fine n your standalone ?

Yes no matter what I use they play fine on my pc.
Standalone only works as follows: GE 1101P
If i encode with dvdx and burn with ulead works fine. If i encode with dvd2svcd and burn with ulead plays skippy. I have also tried encoding with dvd2svcd and burning wiht fireburner loads as a vcd1.1 and also used vcdeasy with segemtn there and the svcd folder and mpegav folder which is how ulead makes them and loads as a vcd1.1 Just as a side note I have the same problem with vcds except ulead wont work have to use adaptec vcd. Very wierd problem. its very confusing.
recap the only way so far I can get a dvd rip to work is
rip and encode with dvdx
burn with ulead
or rip with anythign encode with tmpgencode
burn with ulead.
THis is very annoying since tmpgencode and dvdx take 10+ hours to encode.
dvd2svcd takes 3 hours.

By the way, what happens if you run smartripper? I am speaking of the process that happens when smartripper is trying to unlock the disk.
Does the windows that pops up stay there a long time or does it authenticate and go away quickly?
