View Full Version : Problem with bin files

7th February 2002, 10:23
Hello,

Im trying to SVCD an 125 min movie having set that I want 2 80mins CDs. The result is that I end up with two .bin files one with size 800 MB and the other just 95Kb even though the .mpg files for this movie are 790 MB each. Shouldn't I end up with two 800 MB .bin files?
Is there any solution to this aport from making the SVCDs on my own with the .mpgs ?

Thanks,
Christos

Try hitting the "default" button in the Bitrate tab and set all CD sizes to 800MB.

did you edited the log file? Where is the information about the free drive size, the version used, etc...

btw: the first CD has almost the whole movie, and with the average bitrate used this means that the encoded video has nothing but a red message which say: "Avisynt caught an access violation bla bla...". Could you confirm this?

I guess you will need to reinstall DVD2SVCD and redo the whole enconding.

s_christos
8th February 2002, 11:07
I had to edit the log file in order to fit to the size restrictions of the forum. I have deleted the files so I cannot confirm about the red message.
There are about 8 megs of free space in the drive so this is not the problem. I was using the DVD2SVCD 1.0.6 built 3. I upgraded to built 4 and I am re-encoding having my fingers crossed. I will let you know for the result.

11th February 2002, 08:02
Well... disaster. After the reinstallation of DVD2SVCD the resulting bin files are again 825 MB and 94 MB respectively. The second SVCD is a black screen with the following written in red: "Avisynth caught an access violation ...etc". The sounf looks OK.
Any ideas???

Hi s_christos,

please post your dvd2svcd_log.txt (the complete one - post 2 parts if it will not fit) here and tell a little more on what movie, ripping method, and so on you have used otherwise it is like reading tea leaves or having a look into the good old glass sphere. ;)

I got a near problem too.
I encode a movie with Dvd2svcd version 1.0.7 build 7 Pre 1 using TMPGEnc. 2.51.33.127 (CCE 2.50 crash every time i push the Encode button) end all the work finished with an mpeg file of 751 MB but with only a 319 MB bin file.
In attachment i put the log file.
My computer is:
Celeron 466
128 MB ram
Tnt Video Card 16MB
Cd-rom lg 52X
Dvd-rom Pioneer DVD-105F 16X
Cd-R Yamaha SCSI 8424

Thank you for any kind of help and thank to DVD2SVCD, a really great program.

OOps i forgot, here is my bbMPEG Movie Settings1.ini too.

Hi emilius256,

keep in mind that TMPGEnc support is in early alpha stage. And CCE always crashes with your CPU because it isn't supported by CCE ("Only Celeron 533A and higher" see: http://www.cinemacraft.com/eng/cpus.html)

So wait for dvd2svcd to sort out some glitches with TMPGEnc and perhaps try to help him by post your log because there's no attachement in your posting.

Greetings,

the problem is the same that I said before. The video encoding doesn't work for you. Instead of a movie, you have a red message "avisynth bla bla bla...". Did you already tried to whatch the avs file using media player? What are your computer specs? It is overcloked? Any more informations (like problems while ripping, etc...)?

Computer Specs:
Compaq PIII@850 not-overclocked
256MB RAM
No problems with ripping or anything else. The avs files depict a black screen with the usual red message.

then, there is a problem with the avisynth. Open it - the avs file -with notepad and past here.

Contents of the avisynth_script_file.avs:

LoadPlugin("D:\PROGRA~1\DVD2SVCD\MPEG2Dec\mpeg2dec.dll")
LoadPlugin("D:\PROGRA~1\DVD2SVCD\AVISYN~1.DLL")
mpeg2source("e:\tmp\DVD2AV~1.D2V")
BilinearResize(480,576)
AvisynthSubtitler("\tmp\","permsubs.txt")
ResampleAudio(44100)

Mozart

this line

AvisynthSubtitler("\tmp\","permsubs.txt")

should be

AvisynthSubtitler("e:\tmp\","permsubs.txt")

edit the avs file and verify with media player if it works now.

No luck. Same thing. Don't I have to re-encode again?

Mozart

of course you will need to reencode. However, if the avs file doesn't work fine, the encoding will be wrong either. You will need to reinstall DVD2SVCD and rerip the DVD.

:( Sorry !!
This morning i start a new encoding and i delete the previous dvd2svcd log.
I had to stop this encoding because it takes 24 hours to finish (maybe i have to unselect temporal smoother)
Tomorrow i start a new encoding and if i have the same problem i post the dvd2svcd log.

thank you for help.

OK, after the encoding i made this morning everything worked well, i have selectable audio and subtitles only with CVD (Manual of my dvd player say subtitles must work in SVCD too but i wasn't able).
Thanks for all the help, i have something else to ask but i think is not the right time and place.

Thanks.
