My video card is an HIS 4890 Turbo. I've installed the latest Win7 x64 Catalyst drivers (file name: 11-8_vista64_win7_64_dd_ccc_ocl.exe) but did not select the following two options when doing so.

AMD Drag and Drop Transcoding
AMD Media Foundation Decoders

What benefits do these Catalyst options provide? Do they aid in video/blu-ray playback with PowerDVD 10, WMP 12, or Media Player Classic? AMD's web page doesn't explain these options in enough detail.

I'm also considering whether I should install the separate AMD Media Codec Package. I've already installed ffdshow and Haali Matroska Splitter because they are required for BD Rebuilder. I have no third-party codec package installed (i.e. Shark007 or K-Lite). If I install the AMD codec package or the above two Catalyst options, will they interfere or conflict with BD Rebuilder?

Hi! If I install the AMD codec package or the above two Catalyst options, will they interfere or conflict with BD Rebuilder?Only you, or someone with the same videocard can answer that question with absolute certainty...

latest drivers are 12.3 . yours are from august 2011.

bd rebuilder uses directshow decoders. media foundation codec won't interfere with ffdshow and haali splitter
