how to extract DVD subtitles from protected DVD folder

Hi,

I tried to extract/rip subtitles from the DVD folder using different softwares but no luck.

I tried Megui - vobsubber and when it loads the ifo, it displays the following message:
The media is write protected.

tried VSrip, DVD shrink...

Please help me.

Decrypt it to the hard drive first and then extract the subs?

Or were you trying to get the subs with the movie already on the hard drive? If so, how did you get it to the hard drive?
