View Full Version : Backing up Blu-ray to DVD?

Hi,

I would like to back up some Blu-ray discs that I have so I can play them on my laptop. Rather than search the forum and try to separate the wheat from the chaff I felt that the best solution would be to come here and ask how this can be done most efficiently and economically. My desktop has a combo Blu-ray player, DVD burner.
I'd appreciate hearing anyone's personal experience in doing this. Thanks.

Perhaps I should have said spending any more time searching the forums for one's own personal experiences etc.

Hi,

Thanks for the suggestion. I had looked at the site and was a bit intimidated, but your suggestion provides the impetus to check into it further.

I hope nobody is going to laugh because I am a little outdated, but what brings forward a blue ray disc comparing to a classic dvd ?

BD-Rebuilder will make movie-only backups to DVD, and AVStoDVD will not only do that, but also has a very nice menu-creation capability. I used it very successfully to make DVD versions of multi-episode Blu-rays that I'd made from HDTV recordings.
