hi this is my first post here so forgive the newbish questions.
i play my movies on a wdtv. i dont burn. i have created many iso files using imgburn. most play without issue. however i have problems with some of the iso images. i am not sure if it is the wdtv that is the problem or if i have incorrectly set layer breaks in these images. the problem files either dont play from the beginning of the movie or have a skipping scenes problem. i did not fully understand the layer break options in imgburn when i started using it. and still do not really. also i dont remember if i altered any settings because its been too long. so i reset all settings in imgburn now. so a few questions to shed some light on my issue.
1.is their an easy way to repair bad layer break settings in the problem images?(if that is the problem)
2. when building an image from a video_ts folder should i check "dont update ifo bup files"? (assuming it was an untouched rip with only copy protection removed)
3. when should layer break options be manually set? and why?(initially i thought i was supposed to manually set layer break options) so many images were ripped and had the original layer break altered.
4. I now have the default options set in imgburn and using anydvd to remove copy protection. i then just set imgburn to rip straight to iso. this way i avoid manually setting layer breaks. is this the correct way to rip dvds in the future?
5. i also have the same playback issues on my wdtv with some bluray iso images.(does not start at the beginning of the movie) but when i mount these images on my pc for playback there is no problem. so is this likely a problem with wdtv or am i doing something wrong while building bd iso image?
thanks in advance for any help. i hope i have not messed up these iso images as there are quite a few that dont play back correctly on the wdtv. i suspect it is mostly the wdtv but would love to here any advice to fix these problem files. since my entire 12 disc star wars collection does not play right on the wdtv and i no longer have the discs. and i have at least 6 bluray images that start playback in some random part of the movie.
i have searched for answers and i just cant seem to get a straight forward answer to the problems. i dont understand all the technical mumbo jumbo. and just need help in plain english without confusing terms.
