I'm evaluating to buy some foreign BD without italian language and I would like to add italian audio track ripped from DVD that I own
Is possible to reauthoring a BD adding an audio track from a DVD? How can this be accomplished?
Thanks for your hints

One can add audio/subtitles to a BD, provided they are compliant, however, AFAIK there's no cheap way to edit the menus (to put there eg Language Italian).

I don't care about the menus
My goal is to have the main movie with dvd audio track ita

AFAIK there's no Italian audio that is 23.976fps like the Blu-rays have, only PAL (25fps). So one also need to have Dolby/DTS encoders and decoders and an audio editor to strech the audio.

hmm, what about the mkv illegal stuff on internet? I often see mkv movie ripped from BD with italian audio mux from dvd.
I would like to do the same but mantaining BD structure

MKV does not preserve the BD structure.
All the answers have been given here - just in different topics, as they cover different areas - ripping, preparing the assets (PAL <-> NTSC), editing the BD back.

sounds like not an easy job

No, it will take you good hours for each step, and lots of HDD space.
As freeware one can use multiAVCHD, but only when the additional assets are already prepared (in your case the audio track).

thanks.
unfortunately there are a lot of BD that don't hit the italian market but I would like to buy. So I thinked about a way to use the only available italian audio track (from dvd).

Just thinking another thing right now. Is possible convert a BD (movie only) in a MKV 1:1 (1080p with same resolution)?
Maybe is simpler to add the italian audio track to the mkv

It's almost the same work, with the same requirements in terms of hardware (CPU, HDD) and time.

ripping italian audio track from an already done mkv and add to my 1:1 mkv can reduce time and requirements ?

Only if it matches the video, otherwise you have to fit it by hand.
