I thought I'd be answering questions here instead of asking, but here goes – I went rockhead & bought a bunch of DVDs at a pawn shop – bargain price. Bargain because they're PAL. Here are my related problems: How do I stretch a 5.1 ac3 file from PAL to NTSC, and how do I reassemble six mono wav files into a single 5.1 ac3 file.
Another question: I've already re-authored one to NTSC and Media player classic didn't like the ac3 audio at all - MPC just buzzed. I used EncWAVtoAC3 to do the conversion. The audio played fine in Winamp when I tested them prior to authoring them into a DVD. I stupidly threw the disc away before testing it in a standalone. What's the deal with ac3 in DVDs? Something I need to know?
