Firstly , I apologise if I am wrong to be here , but as the heading states i'm a complete novice. Don't know what info you will need from me but let me know and i'll put it all right!
Now my problem:-
I was given a DVD assembled by a friend but the sound is out of time with the audio. Is this because i put the files on my drive and converted them incorrectly. Only now the DVD apppears corrupted and i am unable to make a dvd with everything in the right place. I again apologise for any errors of protocol but thank any help or advice in advance.

That's simple. Ask your friend for his original again.

The original has been lost and i should have said so in my original post , but being new to forums , forgot to mention the fact. Thanks for the swift reply and hopefully any more you may be able to help me with. regards , Rebelrouser

1. Find out the amount of the delay. I assume it's off by a constant amount all the way through. I play it in Media Player Classic - Home Theater. You can use the +/- keys to adjust the delay on the fly to help figure out the amount of the delay.
2. Demux the audio, video, chapters, subs (if any) using PGCDemux.
3. Take the audio and get rid of the delay entirely using DelayCut.
4. Reauthor the video using Muxman. Don't forget the Celltimes.txt (the chapters).
5. Stick the reauthored video back into the original, thus getting back the menus and anything else the DVD might have had originally by using the Replace button in VobBlanker.

Tried PGCDemux , Delaycut , Muxman and Voblanker as suggested with no improvement. If possible could someone check me stage by stage in case I have done something wrong. Alternatively , would more info help and if so what can I tell anyone to aid me? Once again apologies for inexperience but I am prepared and will try anything as I learn. Kindest Regards for any help.

What's not improved? The audio is still out of synch? If so, did you remove the delay using DelayCut? And was the final AC3 size after being fixed slightly different from the original?

Did you test the DVD after the Muxman step and before doing the replace using VobBlanker?

Thanks for getting back so soon. First - Sound still not in sync with video. Second - I thought I had removed delay with Delaycut. Third - Not sure about what AC3 size difference was , so will re-run previous stages and keep note of difference. I didn't test DVD after Muxman , but will follow your advice and try again before using VobBlanker and let you know what happens. This is obviously my learning curve! Thanks for help will post soon . Regards

Re-run and checked everything! The result is AOK. I will go over the whole procedure again to learn how to acheive this without the stumbles. Your advice and pointers have been truly great. Regards
