Hello,

First of all I hope I am posting in the right place. I was originaly just trying to PM setarip_old but does not seem to work. Hi Setarip, you might not remember me but at least twice you have helped me out and steer me in the right direction.

I did not want to needlessly post a question that likely is already answered but a search did not really bear fruit.

All I would like to do is make a back-up of some blu-rays on to DVD so the kids can watch in the car. many already have DVD and if a combo version was available I got it like the Narnia movies and many disney movies. However Astro boy I only own on Bluray.

I also want to know if I can make a digital copy for my ipad and iphone. Again when possible I buy it. I bought toy story toy box to get all 3 movies again in combo and digital copy but something like Wall-E was hard to find with digital copy in Montreal Canada.

Can you walk me through it like I am 4 years old?

Of course all this is dependant on it not being illegal. I assume if backing up your disks is ok as long as it is to not damage the original then it should be ok to enjoy that same movie in another medium/format.

all I want is for my kids to enjoy the BD in the car DVD player and maybe for daddy to watch his own BD on the ipad :)

is this possible?

you can e-mail me at darthrol@yahoo.ca

sorry for trying PMing you directly but was embarrassed to post and you have been so kind in the past.

thanks in advance.

Hi!

You can use DVDFab (NOT freeware) to convert to various mobile formats, as well as Blu-ray to DVD.

You can use multiAVCHD (freeware) to convert Blu-rays to DVDs (movie-only)

Thank you so much for the quick reply. I expected no less from you. I have checked out the dvdfab site and looks like it has what I need.

Are these just the easiest tools or simply the only ones? Are these the best or the just the cheapest.

I ask because looks like I might need to get at least 2 of their products. One for bluray to DVD and another for DVD to iPad/iPhone. To not get a third one I cannot do BD to iPad direct so will have to do in 2 processes.

Know of any all in one solutions? Also do you know if any of these will make the iPad versions like the actual digitL copies? By that I mean with a cover icon in the videos section and chapter searches with scene index?

Thanks!
