I used an old avi-synth version with flask + tmpeg before.
but after installing dvd2svcd above does not work.
Tmpeg say something like "unable to connect to server :error in line 1"

I have tried edititng the avs script but it won't work anyway.

I have used the latest avisynth 2.5 beta and it doesn’t work with TMPGEnc. If I go back to avisynth 2.07, it works perfectly. Please help! I do a convert to RGB at the end of my script to just be safe.

Please define "doesn't work" and follow the steps outlined in Troubleshooting (http://www.avisynth.org/index.php?page=Troubleshooting).

This is the script that I have been using for ages

a = OpenDMLSource("vid1.XviD.avi", false)
b = OpenDMLSource("vid2.XviD.avi", false)
a + b
BicubicResize(720, 364 ,0 ,0.75 )
AddBorders(0,0,0,4,0)

By doesn't work I mean TMPGEnc simply cannot open it. It can open it with 2.07.

I know that it uses the new color space for XviD files. My system uses the Divx codec to read it and I can open this Script in VirtualDub. Of course talking about Avisynth 2.5 beta. It uses the Divx codec. However as I said before, to be safe I add a convert to RGB and TMPGEnc still cannot read it.

I've used several builds of AVS 2.5 including the latest beta with TMPG without any problems at all. I've only used readavs and not tested the OpenDML support though.

You don't convert to RGB24 as you claim. Do that and post the result.

Alternately try installing the DirectX 8.1 fix on the 2.0 beta page in my sig.

Yes I do. I have tried everything at the end:
ConvertToRGB()
and also
ConvertToYUY2()

both at the end. It's just TMPGEnc, VD works fine.

ConvertToRGB() will give you RGB32, not RGB24! Try ConvertToRGB24() instead.

It works for me (the 2.5 beta with Tmpgenc plus).

At the end I convert to RGB using:

YV12toRGB24(video,interlaced=false)
FlipVertical() #YV12->BGR24 convertion natively flips image

These functions are found in the excellent mpeg2dec3.
Edit: In my case, I do not use readavs (it never worked for me when I tried it once). It does not seem to be needed actually.
