Hi All,

Very new to the DVD ripping game so joined this site as I can see there is some very clever users on here, hoping you can help me.

Basically I have over 500 DVD's over years of collection, my aim is to have a device of somekind that can sit next to my TV that will allow me to basically store all my movies and let me watch them via a remote from my settee.

I dont want to have a laptop open or wifi etc, I just want to be able to click a button and watch anyone of my classics when ever I want.

Lazt you may see yes :-) ha, however our family is a huge movie follower, especially my little boy, father like son :-) so we watch movies all the time when we have spare time.

I apprecaite some work will be needed by me to rip the DVD's or transfer them some how onto a device, thats fine, im just not sure what is the easiest (free) software to use or if there is another alternative.

I have had loads of random advice from many shops and people, but all kind of confusing now as to what I should do.

Sorry if not clear, im sure this is not new, just new to me.

Please help.

Buy a WDTV Live (or Live Plus if Netflix interests you), Buy a 2TB external USB2.0 HDD ...

Use a PC/laptop with DVDFab HD Decrypter to "rip" DVD discs to the external HDD in folder (or ISO) structure ...

Plug external HDD into the WDTV Live device & it will see all the movies you ripped to it and play to your TV via either RCA, component or HDMI connection ;)

Check out the Xtreamer, the WD TV Live has too many bugs that also increase with every new firmware.
