View Full Version : Haali Media Splitter alternative for Win 7 x86 for .ts (transport) files

Are there any other filters that work under Windows 7 x86 (32-bit) that can handle a .ts (transport) file and split out the mpeg-2 video and AC3 audio?

Background:
I use MPC-HC on Windows 7 to play back edited (commercials removed) transport files from Free Over The Air HDTV. The built in source MPC-HC filter for MPEG PS/TS/PVA has a problem maintaining audio and video sync when it plays through the removed commercial gap. Haali Media Splitter doesn't lose A/V sync, but causes a playback glitch in the video right before the break where it skips some video frames and holds the last video frame prior to the commercial break for about 1 second while the remaining audio plays. Under Win XP I used the Nvidia transport demux filter which worked perfectly, but I wasn't able to get it to work under Windows 7.

I have also tried using different video decoders as well as trying different AC3 decoders / filters and the behavior is consistent so I'm pretty sure it points to the source filter.

So, are there any other filters I can try? :thanks:

Eh... I can't win. The LAVfilters does the same thing as Haali. Arcsoft's Demux filter does the same thing as Haali also.

I don't understand why I didn't have any problems in XP. :(

Hi!
Asked and answered? Well, it seems hard to believe the Nvidia filters are the only filters that play nice with transport files though.

I guess I should point out the problem is much worse with 720p video than 1080i though I'm not if there's any relevance.
