Hi everyone, I have a question regarding converting a subtitle in .txt format to .srt
When I try to load it into Subtitle Workshop it doesn't recognize the format. The subtitle which I have looks like this:

Any ideas what I should do? Thank you all in advance!

You could try this one: http://www.nikse.dk/SubtitleEdit.zip (alpha of SE 3.2 - exe only)

Thanks a million for the reply Nikse, that worked a treat. One problem I'm still having however is that Subedit is not recognising special characters such as č, š and đ. Is there any particular setting I need to be aware of regarding these?

You can use File -> Import subtitle with manual chosen encoding
or try Options -> Settings -> General: Auto-detect ANSI decoding - ON

Nikse, I'm having another problem which I didn't notice immediately.. the thing is that I can open these .txt subtitle files which I have, but when I try saving them as a .srt file, the special characters such as č, š and đ are not showing in the .srt, only some strange symbols instead of these characters. If you have any ideas what I'm doing wrong or what I should do I would be most grateful if you could let me know. Thanks again for everything!

SE can save text formats (like .srt) using several different encodings - default file encoding is UTF8 which can be changed in menu toolbar.
On WinXp you need to use a unicode font to display unicode... like Times New Roman. Vista and Windows7 are much better than xp here, as all fonts are unicode :)
