Hi!

Just got the Pioneer A03...

I was wondering which is the best DVD authoring software that would support AC3, 16:9, M2PV, interactive menus with videos as buttons, animated (video) backgrounds...

Names I've found so far are:

SpruceUp, DVDIt!, MyDVD, Scenarist, Impressions, DVDStudio, Ulead Movie Magic (or something like this), and a couple more I can't remember...

I'm just looking for THE software, that would englobe everything.

I saw at the Guides that you mention Scenarist as being the #1 (which version is the last one?) but someone pointed me to DVD Studio Pro...

Ideas?

Thanks!

I didn't see you list DVD Maestro, which is the most widely used DVD Author software on this forum. I recommend that since the interface is so--- easy compaired to Scenarist.

Yup, for Windows users, the TOP DOGs are without question Daikin Scenarist (now, sadly, labelled "Sonic" Scenarist), and Spruce-Technologies' DVD-Maestro. Nothing else competes with these really.

I agree with SiC that DVD-Maestro is the easier of the two to learn and use - only HARDCORE (and I don't use the term lightly!!) DVD authorers use Scenarist instead of Maestro, and when they do, this is generally because it permits the creation of more complex DVD-Rom titles. For DVD-video titles, do yourself a favour and check out DVD-Maestro - IT ROCKS!!!

(but you'll have to surf the net patiently to find it - DO NOT REQUEST A DOWNLOAD on this forum!!)

The current version is 2.9.2915a. But - if you find another version, take this one you find, maybe tomorrow the downloadlink is death...

Greets, CouJo!

Btw,

Do you guys know how to achieve animated menus and transitions as seen on the Region2 releases of Abyss or The Mummy Returns?

Is 3d software implied as well? Ie. a 3D movie exported as video then insterted by snips into DVDMaestro?
