I have Batman on Divx and it's 1.66mb w/audio...too big for two cd's. How can I cut the size down to 1.4 and keep the quality? I've already cut the credits etc... and the audio isn't really big (166mb).
I don't really want to re-encode unless I have to.
Can I use Nandub/Virtual and rencode in full processing mode with a lower bitrate? Supposedly the movie was using 1664 kbps.

I am a newbie, so there may be an easier way.
I have found that you must lower the size of the CD in the bitrate tab in order to get a final avi that can be split into 2 700Mb CD's. The file may be 1.4 GB, but if you check out the properties the size is a little larger. I found this out the hard way and had to re-encode "The Matrix". Also when splitting the avi set the midpoint for the split to about 670-675 MB in order to get it to fit.
Hope this helps.
BTW I read an article on another website about CD-R 90 and 99 which can hold 800 MB and 880 MB. The only supplier I could find was in Germany and I was not able to order from US. The site also stated that only certain CDRW drives have been tested.

Hi,
and the audio isn't really big (166mb).
... that actually seems quite large to me :) - but changing that alone won't get you 200megs less space tho...

if you want it significantly smaller (which u do) then you will have to re-encode
