Hi, Here's my problem...

I used my video camera on my last vacation. One file (mp4) playback fine, but the other doesn't. I've tried all the popuplar player (vlc, media player, etc) When I use Gspot to check the codecs, I noticed that the second flle doesn't show any audio codec info (mp4a, mpeg-4 AAC LC).

I'm unfamiliar with how video files are saved but I wanted to know if there is a way to copy the codec INFO from one file to the defective one (because as far as I know, the audio part should be there but I can't confirm it.)

Or if I get a HEX editor to make the changes manually (even though I don't know where that info is stored in the video file) if that would work. It's a 3GB file and I would love it I could watch it.

Thanks for any assistance...

Try using YAMB to extract the raw video and audio steams. If it can't see the audio stream you might be out of luck. If it can extract them, then use it to mux both the audio and video streams into a new MP4. http://yamb.unite-video.com/features.html
