hi,

i read a lot about that wrong bitrate thing build 1 had. since i downloaded build 3 yesterday i tried and hoped to get an mpeg file with all video.
it isn´t like that. i encoded an episode of the simpsons. watching the mpeg file in Powerdvd4 it stops at about 10s before end. my mp2 files in temp dir are totally encoded. why is this? i cannot find help here right now. what exactly could be the best settings in bitrate tab?

thanks

i used the standards in dvd2svcd with the only difference, that i wrote in the table (0 to 30 min use 1 CD 397MB, to get a 400MB file for writing 2 files on one SVCD.
the file ist about 22mins long. Powerdvd4 stops at around 20min but it HAS TO be at about 21,45mins, cause its right before the end.
even if so, i want those few seconds in my file...

thanx

Hi marqus,

don't trust PowerDVD, it is not showing the correct minutes! Are there really some seconds missing at the end? Did you try to play the SVCD on your standalone or with WinDVD? - Try it and see if the last seconds are really missing.

@gerti67

hi,
yes definitely, the last few seconds are missing. i tried windvd3 and powerdvd4. i didnt write the bin file (created by dvd2svcd) on cd cause i´m sure it will be the same (it´s logical, isnt it?!).
so why the hell do ONLY I have that problem?
any ideas? how can i make sure to get always good svcds?

thanx

how many dvds have u processed ?
what have _you_ tried to rectify this problem ?

marqus
6th February 2002, 10:55
hi,

i tried 3 dvds and some earlier ripped simpsons vobs. i tried the settings "kraven morehead" suggested further down this forum. then, to get a 400megs file i wrote in that table 1 to 25 mins use 1 cd with 397MB.
now i hav a 400MB file with the whole length, everything ok, but how can i make sure that i always will have the whole movie encoded. i dont want it to become a "game of luck" (sorry, i´m german).
that bitrate thing is not yet familiar to me. ..

so
every encode you have tried has cut off ten seconds ?

marqus

hi,
not always 10 seconds. i dont know, i think it depends on what bitrate is set. but as i said, i dont know the best settings for the bitrate.
any general solution?
what exactly does Multipass VBR (2,3,..) mean?
whats that Q-Factor?
thanx
