View Full Version : Merging m2ts files in order.
I'm trying to convert the aliens blu ray from the anthology into just one file. The problem is that in the stream folder, there's about 40 m2ts files that the movie is split into, none of them are in order, there's multiple alternate scenes, and it's a complete nightmare.
I want to know if there's any way to get them in order without spending 3 hours watching the movie and comparing scenes.

Well, if you rip from the disc using something like DVDFab in Movie Only mode, it will rip only the m2ts files you need, and it will rip them in order, so you need only to sort the rip folder by file creation date to assemble them properly. Or with something like AnyDVD coupled with HD Stream Extractor, you can rip the entire movie to one single mkv file.
Or, depending on which version you want, I could just tell you the order they go in. :)
I'll definitely use the software to order the other movies, but it would be great if you could tell me the order for the special extended version.

Hi!
If your desired end result is to be an .MKV, just use (presently freeware) MakeMKV to "with one click" automatically decrypt the disc, do the file linking for you (In this particular instance, the "Special Extended Version" would very likely be the largest/longest running title), and create the .MKV...
Thanks for the advice. .mkv is fine, but I do not want any compression or re encoding. My goal is for a 1:1 output file. If this program is capable of that, I will use it.

Extended cut (if my notes are still good):
1106 1107 1108 1109 1110 1111 1112 1113 1114 1116 1117 1118 1119 1120 1121 1124 1125 1126 1127 1128 1129 1130 1131 1133 1134 1136
The extended cut is practically all in order; assembling the theatrical cut is much less intuitive.

Using HD Stream Extractor with AnyDVD will give you an mkv file with a bit-for-bit identical video stream. No re-compression will occur.

Same with MakeMKV.
