View Full Version : Subtitle names in AVI container

Hi everyone.

Here's a question: is it possible to put srt subs inside an AVI container and set the titles correctly for those subs? When I add subs with AVI MUX even if I set titles and language codes for those subs it doesn't work - there are no titles when I watch the movie. Different players show different titles: MPC shows generic titles (like "Subtitle 1", etc.), Zoom Player (which I actually use) shows some random titles (eg. "vs7", "vs1D", etc.). And there's no such problem with MKV container.

So, is it possible to resolve this somehow?
Thanks in advance.

P.S. Plus I have exactly the same question considering audio streams...

Try the MKV, AVI is obsolete for some years....

To the best of my knowledge the AVI container doesn't support naming streams, whether they be audio or subtitle etc.

In this thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=158208) SeeMoreDigital said it should be possible, but just like zmaster I cannot reproduce it.
