View Full Version : 106b3 and CCE crash when CCE starts

I have had good luck with all versions up till 106b1, CCE would crash at start up, but crash recovery would start and finish with no problems. Now with 106b3 both it and CCE crash as soon as CCE starts. When I try and use crash recovery CCE starts and gives an error message "Unknown FPS. CCE Reported 2 FPS number". Check out the file section of the ECL it appears that the .avs shows only 240 frames total for a 79 minute movie. I can convert this movie with earlier builds but not 106b3, I see that someone else has posted a similar error message but no solution. Thanks for any help.

Unknown FPS. CCE Reported 2 FPS number

this problem has been posted recently

yes, but he didn't say whether his .avs was showing less frames than it should have. And also like him I am not using the title and change cd pics that can also cause this error message.

When avisynth gets an error it communicates it via a small clip containing the error message. If I remember correctly this is 56 pixels high. Try dragging and dropping the auto generated dvd2svcd avisynth script (.avs) extension onto Windows Media Player. See what you get.

Oh, I see that you're using a special TitlePicture. It has 10 frames, usually it only has 2 frames. DVD2SVCD

Aparently you get some sort of errormessage from avisynth. Is your version of avisynth.dll okay?

I think so, I replaced and re registered it with the newest one and still have the same result. thx.

hmmm.... tried to load the avs in media player, got the following;
LoadPlugin: unable to load "E:\PROGRA~1\DVD2SVCD\SIMPLE~1\SIMPLE~1.DLL"
(E:\DESKTOP\AVISYN~1.AVS, line 1)

I had the same failure with bilinear resize too. I'm wondering if an older version of avisynth is needed? thx again.

haha, was writing this as you posted. thx.

Well I've had some mixed results. I tried the 40 version of avisynth and still got the same error. Today (tues.) d'ld the new version of dvd2svcd 106b4. It still crashes CCE and DVD2SVCD when CCE starts to encode, but crash recovery now works and no avisynth error. So I am right back to where I was with 106b1, I get full encodes but have to use crash recovery every time. Any other ideas on the crashes?

See build 4

05 feb. 2002 version 1.0.6 build 4
- Bugfix: PAL PVA Streams was analyzed as being NTSC. Fixed
- Bugfix: When using Smartdeinterlace, dvd2svcd would stop with a Unknown fps error. Fixed
- Bugfix: If CCE never has been executed on a computer before, DVD2SVCD would fail with an "Access Violation", due to missing Registry Entries for CCE.
- Enhancement: I rebuild SubMux.exe in Borland C++ instead of Cygwin. Not only does it make a smaller exe file, but it actually seems to make the subtitles work better on the SVCD. Probably due to word alignment.

Thanks ddog, my last post refers to what is occuring with 106 build 4. THe avisynth error is now fixed, but I have to use crash recovery to get CCE and dvd2svcd running after they crash upon CCE's starting the first time. I do not get the CCE freezes during the actual encoding(23% 66% etc.) that other people have had. I did manually start CCE before and after installing the new dvd2svcd.
