Hi,

During the ffdshow installation an application plugin for VirtualDub is offered. But even without this plugin ffdshow is available for encoding in VirtualDub. So I like to know the addition features offered by this plugin. On the first sight I don’t see any additional menu item at all.

It is a video processing plugin. The VFW interface is the encoder that you are referring to.
Have a look at: Video -> Filters

Hi clsid,

that is strange. I don't see any entry in VirtualDub -> Video -> Filters.

Maybe it was installed in the wrong folder.

Hi clsid,

I installed it correctly resulting in ..\plugins\ffvdub.vdf, but I misunderstood the comment in ..\plugins\readme.txt saying "Filter plugins (*.vdf) placed here are automatically loaded by VirtualDub on startup." It is obviously necessary to perform Video -> Filters -> Add. Sorry. Now it works.

:thanks:
