Is this project still alive?
Or have been deleted both concerning threads?

It appears that 'junq,' the author of DVDImageRipper, has deleted all of his threads and "taken his ball and gone home."
I personally found several of his programs useful, and do not know why he has left, but it appears that he has. Quite a shame.

What a shame! I was going to try it. Does anyone have a link to where it might be available?
Just speculation, but I was thinking perhaps he got some grief from the industry and decided to just disappear.

Here's what he said:
I'll soon retreat (remove) DVDIMageRipper and other tools from the threads in a few days.
Thank you for having used them for fun.

I got a PM from an anonymous person who gave a download for 0.19E at this location:

I think this is the final version.

Please find the attached ZIP file called JRip.ZIP,
which contains JRip.exe (DVDImageRipper v.2.0 - Console Version).
Unfortunately this time, Windows GUI is not available because of insufficient spare time.
Notes on usage:
1. To run, just enter JRip on the console and a simple help is displayed.
2. JRip cannot cope with RPC protection; it cannot rip some DVDs having different region setting with an RPC-guarded drive.
In such case try another drive.
3. Time required to rip a DVD depends on the size and the type of copy guard and ranges from 10 to 50 minutes.
Could you please enjoy a console application ?

Junq please, create a new post for each new version, because you have updated your post the attachments is now pending approval again and it's gonna take ages before an admin will notice it.
Or even better, upload the files on an external file sharing site. For instance Multiupload (http://www.multiupload.com) will upload the file on several hosts for you while you just have only one single upload to do.

Sorry for frequent upload and thank you for your advise about upload link.
I've lost no time to upload the latest JRip.zip to the link:

Sorry for having bothered you and thanks again.

I wasn't sure which of the DVDImageRipper threads to post this in, but thanks for this program. I haven't done much ripping in the last few years and this helped me rip some newer discs with nasty file system quirks that stumped DVD Decrypter (Darker than Black Season 1, region 1). Gotta like a simple but effective tool that gets the job done!
:thanks:

To theantipop
Thank you for using this small tool.
I'm happy to know you are enjoying ripping with this tool.

I used to use DVD Decrypter on XP, I assume that is not suitable for use with Win7.
Is DVDImageRipper the last equivalent utility available?
The download available, recently posted, is only 49k! Surely that is not the whole app?!

Hi Nigel
The size of this tool looks really small because it is a compressed executable. Even so, inside this tool a lot of decrypting algorythms are contained.
Unfortunately I do neither have WIN 7 nor have used it so far.
If WIN 7 has a Command Prompt console like XP, I guess this tool may cope with various ripping situations.
Make sure that this tool is a WIN32 application.
Thank you for your interest.

OK thanks.
I will revisit it and will obviously have to find instructions for the operation of it.

I don't know the ins and outs of the forum here, but it appears that there was some backchannel resistance to Junq's efforts (how long does it take to "approve" an application anyway?)
Too bad, that, because I've used Junq's little 1.9 version on every deliberately difficult authored DVD and it's never failed to deliver a burnable ISO.
That Doom9 is allowing the .zip to reside is much appreciated, anyway; IMO though limited in output configurations, the ImageRipper get's 'er done and isn't that the point?
Thanks and have a great holiday,
SK

Hi Stone Knife,
Your post is the first in a long while.
BTW, thanks for having used my little tool.
It takes too long to rip especially those DVDs having false sectors, because JRip or 1.9 daringly attempts to read deliberately provided false sectors and replaces those sectors with readable dummy sectors if it founds them, resulting in making structurally the same DVD as the original.
Anyway, you know JRip.exe ?
