I tried 2 clips last night.. with the newest dvd2svcd (wicked program:)) and the audio turned out perfect with the 4pass vbr, but I tried the second clip with 3pass vbr.. (Faith Hills music video from the grinch) Faith hill sounded like a man! :D The sound was really bad and warped sounded..

does 3-4 pass vbr effect audio?

Thanks Jason

Also on a 1 gig duron is 0.450-0.640 in CCE normal?

The amount of passes you do in CCE shouldn't affect the audio quality. Unless it's a bug with DVD2SVCD, but that would be a bit strange...

Did you use the same clip/source for both of your passes?

Can you explain in detail how you did the audio encoding the first time...and how you did the audio the second time.. which programs were used also thanks

I used smartripper to rip all of vob9 onto my HD.. (browsed using dvdx to find the section I needed)

First time I used dvd2svcd to encode all of vob 9 then cut the section I needed.. second time I browsed the chapter section using dvd2svcd and selected the chapter that had the 4:12 minute clip I was wanting to test.
(dvd2svcd then again "ripped" the vob files to its own folder from my backup folder)

Does cce have an issue with just certain chapters encoding audio?

Thanks!

I never use cce 2 encode my audio...so if you are also not using cce 2 encode audio and your just using it for video which sounds like thats what your doing then the problem is somewhere else cce has nothing 2 do with your audio..."Think about it cce is not touching the audio...so it cant have an affect on that aspect..only video"

If your max bitrate is 2 high that will cause your audio 2 be lowered in dvd2svcd 2 a lower quality since svcd's have a max bitrate limit...which includes the audio+video

So with that said why dont you post your log file or files from dvd2svcd so we can all take a look..

I will give it another try tonight and see what happens and then post the log file
