NOTES
Just crop(not resize - it's important) your anamorphic DVD's source and if it's PAL use PAR=64:45 and if it's NTSC use PAR=32:27
Also DVDs produced around 2006 and later are non-ITU while most older ones are ITU i checked this with a avisynth script.
QUESTION
Made avisynth script and cropped out any black border.Just crop not resize.
Using encoding frontend MeGUI with Xvid codec.
How do i set my SAR -- 64:45 ?
Can see the comand line options on Advanced tab ?

You can access the "Aspect Ratio" tab clicking on "more..." button near the "Profile@Level:" combo box. (Xvid keeps calling this "Pixel Aspect Ratio")
Just crop not resize.
Well, you can actually resize, just keep the aspect ratio of the cropped frame. The resized image will have the same DAR as the source one.
"ITU"...?

That encoding option is really talking about the pixel shape, not the picture shape.

Let MeGUI do it for you. In the drop down field which displays the input aspect ratio (or something along those lines) when you open a DVD file for encoding, MeGUI defaults to ITU resizing. I wish I could tell it not to, but just change it to the same aspect ratio, only the one that doesn't say "ITU".
Turn on clever anamorphic encoding, do your cropping and then let MeGUI do it's thing.
When using the anamorphic encoding if you don't want to resize, then especially for XviD you'll need to select the "over-crop to achieve mod16" method (or under crop). Of course you may lose a little more of the picture but that's the only sane alternative to at least a little resizing because with XviD you really should stick to mod16 dimensions. x264 is a different story. Non-mod16 encoding is much less a big deal.
I only use the anamorphic encoding when encoding to x264, but I assume it works the same with XviD. If it's XviD I resize to square pixels because an anamorphic XviD encode isn't going to play properly on most standalone devices anyway, and that's really the only reason for continuing to use XviD at all these days. Plus if it's XviD I use AutoGK rather than MeGUI.
If you want 100% accuracy in the output DAR (or close enough to) MeGUI has a preference which lets you set the maximum allowed aspect ratio fudging. It defaults to one or two percent. Just change it to zero (only applies to anamorphic encoding, for square pixel encoding MeGUI resizes and fudges with the best of them).

Not to say PAR, DAR, SAR, etc..... even the terms such as "Clever anamorphic encoding" and "ITU resizing" are confusing for common ppl.
