Xvid HD Resoultion Player

is there a DivX player that can playback Xvid HD resolution material?


all players i have seen are all Bluray (which makes them very expensive, also hard to get here in the UK)


I'm looking for a Xvid player that can playback Xvid 1280x720 footage without having to go fully down the Bluray road,


DivX home theatre only support upto 720xXXX resolutions,

DivX Plus HD support Bluray AVC

does anyone know of a player that can handle Xvid HD material (or DivX HD material) that is in the ASP codec? (not AVC)


there are so many players here in the UK that support ASP (Xvid/DivX), i was wondering if anyone knew of one that can handle HD content?

Ferguson DVP 868 http://skinflint.co.uk/eu/a536875.html can play such HD material. It playes XviD up to 1280*720 without any problems (it is a Divx HD certified player). It may be hard to buy it in the UK because the company, contrary to its name is Polish. On the other hand the company is present in Germany, however under different brand names so maybe in the UK the situation looks similar.

Why not buy something like: WDTV HD Live (who needs a DVD Drive :P) http://www.wdtvlive.com/

can playback Xvid FullHD and many more formats ... like mkv(h264 fullhd)

but i can only find a merchant in Poland,

i also have read that it is polish, and not a single seller in UK (one can't help think....why not)

any other examples, i really do appreciate any help given,

any player that has Bluray support is just so expensive, i feel like companies are forcing Bluray on to there consumers, HD DivX/Xvid works fine with DVD,
i'm surprised it so difficult to find a MPEG-4 player with HD ready DVD bases only,

been searching all night, everything i see is either Up-scale (SD to HD..... definitely not what i want)
or Bluray based player (so expensive.... and i will unlikely ever goto Bluray..... DVD-9 disks are still so expensive, imagine how long it will take for bluray blank media to comedown in price....like never)

network and streamers is not really an option for me, to long to explain, needless to say MPEG-4 player is a necessity for me and the rest of my household

found one, but like the "Ferguson DVP868HD" i can't find a reseller, in fact Nortek doesn't even have a shop....?
