I'm a new user and am trying to figure out why I keep getting an access violation. It doesn't seem to be the much talked about CCE problems since I don't think it ever gets to that point. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks for the reply.
I've tried two different DVD's (Waterworld and Starship Troopers). I will try some more.
Does it look like CCE is causing the problem? The log doesn't seem to indicate that CCE has started...
I will try to get the newest CCE. I've tried 2.50 in both normal and safe mode.
UPDATE: Tried a third DVD -- Stargate -- and it appears to be working now.

It would help a lot if you would post your machine specs and OS. Also, post your avs file and full log.

dont use 2.64
and dont use the lite versions (markrb, ddog or anyone confirm this)
only use cce 2.62 with safe mode only - this is a last resort after all other trouble shooting fails
try adjusting your bitrates
try different resize methods under frameserver tab etc
and might want to post one of your failed logfiles here for the experts to scan :)

Again, thanks for the quick replys.
I tried a third DVD (Stargate) and at least I can tell that CCE has started. I'll let this run and post results.
I'll also try to locate a copy of CCE 2.62 -- the only thing I can find on visible light's page is 2.64.
System Specs:
Celeron 300mhz, 256MB RAM, Win XP (I have a faster computer but not with a DVD drive.)
I'll post a full log if I still have problems after trying with more DVDs.

CCE will not work with that CPU. It must be a P3, Athlon or higher.
PII's and first generation Celerons are not supported.
This is clearly stated in the Q + A.

me
:stupid:
assumed your cpu was up to scratch :(
move your dvd drive to your other machine
or
if they are connected on a 100mb lan
rip on one and transfer to the other to encode :)

Crap. Sorry about that. I missed that in the Q&A.
I'll rip on my slow computer and encode on my PIII.
