View Full Version : DGIndex - Audio Delay Issues?

I'm running Win7 64-bit and have ripped a DVD to my HD using both AnyDVD and DVD Decryptor. I've tried both DGIndex and ReJig to demux and everything goes fine except that the filename on the audio clearly says 0ms delay. But, if I mux using 0ms delay, the audio is waaaaay off...

any wild guesses as to why my VOBs and/or IFO files are not yielding the correct delay info for remuxing?

If the DVD itself plays in sync, odds are you either have a blank cell at the beginning of the title or you're indexing VOBs with multiple titles in them. In the former case, set DGIndex's first (left-hand) marker equivalent to the first frame of actual visual content from the movie. In the latter case, make sure you're ripping with DVD Decrypter in IFO mode or processing an already decrypted and copied disc with PGCDemux to make a new set of VOBs unique to that PGC.

I'm using DVD Decrypter in IFO mode... creates a single new VOB from the selected PGC. You're correct in that I seem to get correct delay values when indexing/demuxing using DGIndex's left marker at the first visible frame...

it never used to be this way... at least, I didn't notice... thanx for the help. Unfortunately, I had my conversions running on a script. Is there a way to fix this so I don't have to manually determine the first visible frame?

If it's a newer movie on DVD with newer copy protection, you shouldn't be using DVD Decrypter to put it on the hard drive. The chances are there are a bunch of unreferenced cells at the beginning. That's what Inspector. Gadget meant by having a blank cell at the beginning. One solution is to use DVDFab HD Decrypter in Main Movie Mode possibly followed by running the VOBs through FixVTS. From the sound of it this particular movie could be decrypted successfully by using RipIt4Me which uses a combination of DVD Decrypter and FixVTS. But you have to be flexible in the use of your tools.

If you want the main movie only, there's a lot of methods to rip it correctly, without the recourse at payware (like anydvd or dvdfab), but these need a bit of brain and time and willingness, as manono said.

The decrypting part of DVDFab is free. Or did I misunderstand you?

In DVD Decrypter, try splitting by "VOB ID" when ripping in IFO or File mode.
