lately, i can't seem to burn a data disc using prassidvd 2.0
when i imput my video and audio_ts folders i imput a volume label...select my speed, and burn...then about 7 seconds later it says "data disc job 1 has terminated with errors". i notice at this same time that it says "fixing up" in the progress bar. so i go into options and uncheck this "fixing up" option and it still doesn't want to burn..i can burn with nero but not this program anymore. someone please help me out
i'm using a pioneer dvr-A03 with 1.68 firmware, please help

Have you upgraded the engine to the newest version? You can download it from the prassi site.
Also, when you say you select your speed, what do you mean.
I have been using prassi that came with my A03.

Did a specific error code come up?
Under tools>options>datadisc do you have "stop the job" and "Recognize, check..VTS" selected?
Have you tried to reburn something that was previously burnable?
Do you have DMA enabled? Not knowing what your OS is. Sometimes, this option becomes unselected. Don't ask me how.
Have you installed any new hardware?
Have you encoded your movies that you are trying to burn?
Will it burn a CDR/W?
Email for faster help.

If I remember correctly, I got those errors when I would try to burn something that was not in the exact DVD format. I've had success running the Video_TS folder through IfoEdit and correcting VTS sectors. Make sure you back-up whatever you are trying to burn before doing this. Prassi is picky about having everything in the exact right format before it will burn. Actually a good thing as it keeps you from burning things that won't work on standalones. I burned the same folder with Nero and Prassi and the Prassi disk played in more players than the Nero one. Go figure.

Roveer is correct about what he is saying. Thats why I asked the question about
Under tools>options>datadisc do you have "stop the job" and "Recognize, check..VTS" selected?
That really is the first thing you want to look at.

well i tried using ifoedit to fix the vts sectors, then i re tried to burn the folders (video_ts and audio_ts) with primo and i still got that gay error. i then tried to burn with nero, and i was able to burn...but of course the dvd doesn't want to play in my apex ad-800. I know the dvd works on my comp, cause i used WinDVD and set the default drive as the drive where my dvd files were..it worked fine there.
could if be my dvd's that i'm using or even my burner!?
thanks

Hi,
disable DMA with the Pioneer A03. The drive's not able to record correct if set to DMA Mode tranfers. There maybe exeptions, but in general PIO Mode 4 is the right choice.
Has been reported on the Pioneer troubleshooting page. I can confirm this, solved my probs with communication errors.
Disabling DMA Mode in Windows Hardware Manager is sufficient. In Win9x at the drive's folder in Win2k on the adapter page !

now it works...i īm now using the imagetool from CouJo.
it works perfect and after the image is done it can be burned with prassi... iīm very glad, īcause i worked here yesterday until 5a.m.
thx CouJo (may god bless u for that great tool)
....BUT
now my dvd works, but it doesnīt autostart in my standalone.
thatīs my NEW problem for the moment....and iīm currently making test-burns with my a03 and a dvd-rw until it works perfect...
btw. if i copy the video_ts.* from another film in my finished dvd folder the disc does do autoplay, but that canīt be the solution (for me)
ciao, a advice would be nice...

I found that while trying to burn TOMCATS DVD that Prassi wouldn't let me start the burn process. I found threw extensive testing that I had a menu error which standalone players can't handel? AKA a menu loop or perhaps a bad link? You computer however dosn't care, thats why it works.
My knowledge on this shit is growing FAST!

:D
MCP,
I had the same problem... problem was I was not telling IFOedit to make a new IFO files for me(the last check box) so it just copied the original ones from the original rip. U need IFOEdit to make you new IFO files because the original ones reference some VOB files that you don't have/need anymore. try re-ripping and don't forget u still gotta correct the VTS Sectors too. ok good luck
