Hey all, first time poster. I've read all the guides and searched through hundreds of posts. I've got a fairly simple problem (I think) but I can't seem to figure it out. Hoping someone here can help. I've got a video that spans 4 SVCDs, and I'm trying to put them all onto 1 DVD. I've already converted the SVCD format to a regular old Mpeg2. However, I can't find a way to transcode the video stream from 480x480 to 720x480. I'm hoping to do this, and make a DVD-legal Mpeg2 stream, without having to uncompress the file and re-encode. Both ReMpeg2 and mpeg2mpeg will not accept a file at 480x480 as input. I'm about ready to pull my hair out, and I really don't want to lose the quality by going to avi and back to mpeg2. Any thoughts?
thanks,
BioMonk

you will find the answer in this thread and in the links there

You will have to use DVDPatcher_v102a.exe, or some equivalent program
The MpegRepair step seems unnecessary, at least with the 2 DVD players I have access to, a Sanyo DVD-9203 where I experienced none of the problems suggested if yo omit the pan & scan vector data, and a Sharp VCR/DVD combo which would only play it when set to PanScan or 16:9 (cant reemmber which) without the distrotion mentioned
BTW this is a slowish process as you also have to convert audio from 44 to 48. If you have to use MpegRepair, then definitely time-intensive

Ive created my own version of this.. try the attached file
My process took me about 10 days to work out the missing and extra bits, but the end result was worth it.

Ok, some people reported audio high frequencies using my guide. see the following thread for an attachment which documents fixing this problem
