Hi everyone,
I am sorry if someone has answered this (i did not find anything in the search) or maybe this is a stupid question but i have a problem:
I have several avi files which have 2 audiotracks BUT those audiotracks are unnamed so to speak.
If i pick one for example with vlc/kmp it says either unknown or undetermined
Is there an option to assign a name/language to the audiotracks which is non too time consuming (or does not require a lot of interaction i.e. batch)
the avi files have all one property in common regarding the audio tracks:
Track 1 is Language 1
Track 2 is Language 2
If there is a way to do this could someone please tell me.
Thanks

I think avi files don't support named audio tracks. Also have more than 1 audio track is a hack.
BTW, this isn't a Audio encoding issue, try in other forum related to avi container.

With VirtualDubMod you can sign the title of the audio stream. But you can not set the language code for avi.

As far as I can remember it is possible to name/re-name audio tracks and set their languages using Alex Noé's AVI-Mux GUI muxing application...

AVI-Mux GUIIn my opinion, AVIMux GUI offers to do this for avi, but may do so only for mkv.
Interesting. I am now specifically to the test tried to change the title names and get nothing. I do not understand why. I have exact same version AVIMux GUI.

Also have more than 1 audio track is a hack.
According to
http://www.alexander-noe.com/video/amg/en_myths.html
[...]
even the original AVI file specification supports 256 streams
(no matter how many of them are audio or video)

@zmaster: You have to set the language code of the "Title" (click the + near Title) to "und" otherwise the title will be ignored for .avi files.

While we're at it. Despite having read this thread (http://forum.videohelp.com/threads/292927-Using-ffmpeg-to-mux-an-arbitrary-number-of-streams-from-multiple-files) I'm still not getting the proper syntax to bacth mux some files under win. Using Avi-Mux GUI's scripting routines is a PITA but having to use ffmpeg or mencoder makes no difference to me as long as the job gets done. So how do I
a) add a new audio stream from an external mp3 as secondary stream to an AVI
b) ignore the two AC3 streams of an AVI and replace them with two external mp3 streams (adding a +950 ms delay)?
Any help getting the right syntax for any tool is appreciated.
