Like the title says: is there any of this rara avis?

Most of them are advertised as 1080p compatible, yet some of them simply upscale (yes, no joke), others output only 1080p as 1080i60 (or i50).

Concerning HD lossless audio, some of them downconvert them to DD or DTS, should they be able to understand it. When it is so simple to pass through the audio using the HDMI ....

These info will never be made public by the companies, which however like bombastic marketing lies, but most people do not care too much about these formats, apparently.

Every forum I've read, everyone said "wow, it plays everything", but in the end that "everything" was simply his collection of AVI.

The question is however whether these media player would replace the BD, or maybe not? As any recent BD-player can both, 1080p24 and HD lossless.

My XtreamerPro can pass lossless DTS-HD MA and Dolby True-HD audio as a bit-stream via HDMI. As well as lossless PCM and FLAC audio - upto 7.1 channels.

And the XtreamerPro can play (1920x1080/88) MPEG-2, VC-1, MPEG-4 AVC (and MPEG-4 Part-2) video streams that have been encoded at 24 frames per second , provided your display device also fully supports 24p (EDID code: VID=0x20).

Do you mean by that pure 24p or 24/1001 is included as well?

I've bought a popcorn hour c-200 (for design reasons) and it does understand HD audio, also from MKV. However I don't have yet a HD AVR so I cannot test all the channels, reports in various fora are positive.
