I am buying a Blu-Ray player in the next few weeks, and am wondering if there is any make/model I should avoid? I will be using BD-Rebuilder to get the size down to a BD-25, and burn them using a Pioneer BDR 205 12 speed writer. Not too sure on the media yet, may go for Traxdata or AONE.

Are there any Blu-Ray set top players that have trouble with BDR media? Or are they all good to go?

I was gonna post in that "List of BD-Rebuilder Compatible Players", but noticed that is for BD5/9s only.

Regards..........

If you're backing up to BD-25 you should be safe with pretty much any brand. But if you want to be extra careful based on posts I've seen, you may want to avoid Panasonic. They seem to be the least robust. All others appear to work well.

my panasonic hasnt given me issues yet. Havent tried BD-5/9's though. I'm only doing BD25's and use quality verbatim media offcourse. My DMP-BD85 even likes LTH discs :)

I own a very good and extremely compatible player, but if I would buy one now I would pick either the Samsung C5900 or the S360 from Sony.
