I would like to create a tool similar to BDEdit, but for Unix/Linux/OSX systems. I've downloaded a number of different BD specification documents, but after extensive searching haven't found anything that defines things like the format of the .clpi and .bdmv files. I assume some of these developers must have something to refer to to get the level of detail in their apps, or has all of this information been reverse engineered somehow?
Thanks

There are many people with copies of the spec on this forum so you could just ask here.

Thanks kieranrk. If someone could tell me the name of the file to search for, or let me know where to get it, it would be much appreciated.

I meant ask questions about the things you want to know. The Blu-Ray spec is a confidential document.

The blu-ray site does not have the docs I am looking for, or at least they are not made publicly available. I was looking for specs on the binary format of .bdmv, .mpls and .clpi files. I am using a Mac mini as a media center, so I am trying to write some programs to help with making stripped-down copies of the blu-ray discs we have.

They don't give away the specs for free, that is the point. Sharing the specifications in whole or in part would be illegal and thus is not allowed to be discussed here!
However there are people around here who do have access to the specs. So you can ask these people specific questions and they probably will be able to answer your questions.

Actually, it looks like libbluray has already done the bulk of the heavy lifting for me, and bdsplice is working to get a basic raw video file stitched together. I'll spend some time hacking on this until I have some more specific questions. Thanks for the responses.
