I just ripped a DVD-9, re-encoded to fit a DVD-R, then I tried to import it into DVD Maestro but Maestro wouldn't accept the file due the framerate being 23.97. Is there anyway to uses a 23.97 framerate NTSC file with Maestro??
Thanx!!

Hi,
you have to use pulldown.exe to pull-it-down to 29,96fps. Find it at doom9.org.
Only 25fps or 29,96fps are accepted for DVD.

"pulldown exe" doesn't have any gui! Can you explain the commands needed for proper operation?

navigate a DOS command Prompt onto the directory with pulldown, then type "pulldown"
With no command line parameters, you will then get a list of all possible commmands and the syntax
I would suggest moving a copy of pulldown.exe to your mpg folder, , navigate the DOS command Prompt onto that folder, then type
"pulldown original.mpg ori_pull.mpg",
where original.mpg is the name of the movie to have the pulldown flags installed, and ori_pull.mpg is your desired new name
BTW I find that you have to use traditional DOS names with this executable, eg pearl harbor.mpg would be pearlh~1.mpg

Thank you very much for the information.
Just another question. Pulldown will create the additional frames needed to change from 23.976 > 29.97, or they will be created at the authoring program ?

Pulldown won't create any new frames. It only sets flags in the stream to tell your playback unit to perform the telecine process (inserting fields to bring your 23.976 input up to 29.97).
