Hello jdobbs!! i have a Overall Bitrate : 3.891Kbs in this case, wha matrix can i use?
i want know in each case, the matrix or the way to get a better bachup.
now i using
MainMatrix=3500-9500 AVAMAT6
LowMatrix=1800-3500 AVAMAT7
VLowMatrix=Angel BestVeryLow
ExtraMatrix=BACH1 by DDogg
HighMatrix=3500-9500 AVAMAT6
MedHighMatrix=3500-9500 AVAMAT6
MedMatrix=3500-9500 AVAMAT6

There are too many variables to answer. My recommendation is to always go with the encoder default. Other matrices are meant for special cases.

I personally use avamat6 for bitrates above 4000+ and avamat7 for everything else and use the "IDCT of 64-bit IEEE-1180 Reference" to squeeze every last bit out of the source

I'm also using AviSynth 2.5.8 MT (multi-threading) with HCEnc 0.25 and everything runs quite happily on my Win7 Ultimate 64-bit install, and the MT does speed up some AviSynth filters I occasionally use quite a lot but some filters/functions just were not designed with multi-threading so don't work as they should

AviSynth 2.6.0 apparently will have multi-threading built-in but is still in alpha stages, but some have used it with DVD-RB without any real issues

Avamat6 and avamat7 seem to be general purpose matrix for a genera set range of bitrates, but there are some that prefer to tweak the matrix depending on the source. You can get some that are designed for very specific movies by certain companies. There is as an example a 'Fox' matrix that has been created purely for 'Fox' movies to squeeze the best out of these and so on
