Ive mastered by own DVD Video using a Pioneer A03 and DVD Maestro.

If i cut the files to a DVD-R, they play fine on my standalone DVD player - Sony 725.

If i cut the files to a DVD-RW, they don't play on my Sony 725.

I suspect the IFO and VOB structures are OK, as the DVD-R copy works 100%.

according to many people, the Sony 725 reads and plays DVD-RW, also VCDHELP.COM's database of players shows it being DVD-RW compatiable.

Any clues please ?

It could be the brand of RW you are using.

ive tried Pioneer 4.7gb v1.1 RW discs and also
Princo 4.7gb v1.1 RW discs, both same..

I would love to hear from anyone who has tried these discs and also anyone with different brands of DVD-RW discs they have working on a Sony 725

thanks

I've just tried a Verbatim -RW (v1.1) and a Sony +RW.... neither worked. :(

The discs were recorded using a Sony DRU-500AX (firmware 2.0f).
