hey folks,
I've got a Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit and want to encode some stuff with pure 64 bit software.
I know that the 64 bit drivers are meant for 64 bit software and 32 bit drivers for 32 bit software. So far no consumer software is out there compiled as 64 bit code there is no real demand on such things. For example my onboard sound has both 64 and 32 bit drivers so the 64 bit sound recorder of the OS but also 32 bit Audacity can record audio.
MS delivers the internet explorer (bäh!!) as 64 bit - and until now there isn't an adobe flash player for 64 bit. A simple example how bad the support is - it shows only Silverlight and WM encoded stuff.
I have some MiniDV tapes, ran some calculations and ended up in a 100 GB uncompressed avi file....
I downloaded the 64 bit edition from MS. Also I have the 64 bit virtualdub.
Unfortunately both tools can't find the Huffyuv driver and it seems the WME9 is limited to 64 GB filesize. Uncompressed my file is 100 GB and the second pass fails :-( so I wanna do that in Huffyuv, but there are lot of so-called "64 Bit Huffyuv" downloads out there, but finally they simply install correctly on 64 Bit XP, Vista and Windows 7 but they do not bring a 64 bit codec with themselves which could be recognised by 64 bit software.
So the question is - where to get the real stuff - or do I have to find a 64 bit capable c++ compiler like the GnuCC and let him eat the code? Alternatively Lagarith would be a choice, but I assume the same probs....
