Just a couple of quick Q&A'a I threw together. Any mod feel free to change them if you would like.

Q44: I sometime notice a Matrix tab in DVD2SVCD 1.0.6 B2 and higher. Sometimes it is not there. What gives?
A: DVD2SVCD 1.0.6 B2 and higher automatically sense the version of CCE selected in the file path in the CCE tab. If D2S determines that CCE 2.62 or CCE 2.64 (not recommended) is selected it will add the matrix tab for your convenience (the label to the left of path line will continue to say "Cinema Craft Encoder 2.5"). If it determines CCE 2.5 is selected the matrix tab will not be present.
Note: To use any version of CCE except 2.50SP you must check the "safe mode VFAPI" checkbox in the CCE tab.

Q45: So, does Q44 mean I can't use a selectable matrix if I am using CCE 2.50 SP?
A: Yes, you can. To select a matrix to be used by CCE 2.50SP you must use a version of the TSUNAMI patch utility (see Google) to patch the matrix into CCE 2.50SP. While D2S will not outwardly give any indication of this matrix patch, rest assured it will be used for the encoding and multiplexing phase of the D2S process.

@DDogg:

about Q45:

how does dvd2svcd knows where to find the matrix? Do I need to copy this matrix in the bbmpeg folder? What name they should have?

Q: how does dvd2svcd knows where to find the matrix? Do I need to copy this matrix in the bbmpeg folder? What name they should have?
A: Hell if I know, please ask Mozart :D

I guess these informations are necessary... And I don't know the answer:confused:

ok. I did some tests and I got it. Very smart:D

I just extract the matrices (or matrix depending on where you see it) from the CCE executable program. And save it as two separate files. So you don't have to worry about it.

If I have it right, D2S then loads those two files into the IQM and NIQM slots in BBMPEG? Is this Intra and NonIntra? I tried to translate the readme.txt from the Tsumami patch but got stuck on some of it. :) What translates into "cunning ruse" from German?

Edited to protect the innocent:

CCE Patcher 0.2.1 :
- mb1 interlaced DV Matrix
- Andreas SVCD Matrix
- Filesize-Check

-----

CCE Patcher 0.2.0 :

CCE Patcher 0.2.1 :

- mb1 interlaced DV Matrix
- Andreas SVCD Matrix
- Filesize-Chec

- MPEG-1 VBR activation with the CCE 2,62 status alone was removed, because she did not function

- AVS Patch was removed, because him nobody needed

- are written Intra matrix (Intra.mat) and non to Intra matrix (nonIntra.mat) on the disk into the Patcher directory. One can assign these two stencils with the Muxen with the bbmpeg Muxer under the rider ' input output files ' (open IQM and open NIQM), so that the Muxer enters gemuxten files these Quantisizer stencils actually used by the CCE into the MPEG header finished.

-crc32-cUeberpruefung of the up-to-date entered matrix with the stencils in the Ini file, so that in the cunning ruse the correct name is entered. If several same stencils are available in the Ini file (zb ' CCE 2,50 standard ' and ' CCE 2,62 MPEG standard '), then the name of the first suitable matrix into the cunning ruse are entered.

LAUGH @DDogg nod...:) i was just so bored..and figured for the lazy people this could help:)

Hell I knew that! I can use a translator too... :)

Edit, yes, it was a cunning ruse

Hi there,

here is a translation for the "non-germans" ;)

CCE Patcher 0.2.1 :
- C.... for CCE 2.64 (Standalone and PlugIn)
- mb1 interlaced DV Matrix
- Andreas SVCD Matrix
- Filesize-Check

CCE Patcher 0.2.0 :
- MPEG-1 VBR activation with CCE 2.62 Standalone was removed because it did not function
- AVS-Patch was removed because no one was in need of it
- Intra.Matrix (Intra.mat) and non Intra-Matrix (nonIntra.mat) will be written to harddisk to the directory of the Patcher. Those two matrices are used when muxing with bbMPEG by loading them with the "Open IQM" and the "Open NIQM" button within the "Input Output Files" tab, so that the quantizer-matrices currently used by CCE will be written to the MPEG-Header of the muxed (output) file.
- CRC32-checking of the currently entered matrix with those of the ini-file, so that the correct name will be displayed in the dropdown-box(field) under "available Matrices:". (remark: listbox which is actually a dropdown-box(field) was translated to "cunning ruse") If there are several identical matrices within the ini-file (e.g. "CCE 2.50 Standard" and "CCE 2.62 MPEG Standard"), then the name of the first matching matrix will be displayed in the dropdown-box(field).

I hope my manual translation is not as bad as the automated was before.

Greetings from Germany,
gerti67

hi

with the cce 2.5 i use the matrices cce 2.62 very low bitrate
the name of the intra and nonintra files a different from the dvd2svcd
file names in the bbmpeg folder of dvd2svcd
i will copy the intra and nonintra files from the patcher to the dvd2svcd bbmpeg folder
witch filenames must be take for the intra.mat and nonintra.mat of the patcher for dvd2svcd bbmpeg muxer?

sorry for my bad english

i will copy the intra and nonintra files from the patcher to the dvd2svcd bbmpeg folder

My understanding is D2S extracts the matrix and stores them under a standard name so this is not required.

hi ddogg

i compare the intra and nonintra files from the patcher (cce2.62 very low bitrade) with a txt-editor and the files from dvd2svcd in the bbmpeg folder and this is not the same
i have open dvd2svcd with the cce2.62 in encoder tab and in the matrices tab i check the cce2.62 very low bitrade and then i close the pogram and check the matrices in the folder bbmpeg
and this matrices are not compare with the patcher matrices

thx for help

OK, I'll ask D2S to look in on this thread and get you an answer.
