Hi, I am getting a write error for bluray discs while writing them with GGW H20L drive with Verbatim BD-R discs. The error is as follows:

I/O ERROR

Device:[2:0:0]HL-DT-ST-BD-RE GGW-H20L YLO2 (E:)(ATA)

ScsiStatus:0x02
Interpretation:Check Condition

Interpretation: Write Error

Start by updating the firmware in the drive... YL02 is pretty old. (Granted the latest firmware is still 2008.... :) ). YL05 solved a lot of problems with media compatibility...

Enter the model number (GGW-H20L) here:
http://www.lg.com/uk/support/product/support-product.jsp

See if that solves the problem... If it's all Verbatim media that's causing the problem, this might solve it...

If it still fails, but burns other discs okay, you might just have to stick with other media. The drive is kind of old (still have mine though!), and it will start to fail eventually...

I got this message when burning a new DVDR with an old burner, I'm pretty sure this is a media compatibility issue, also on BDRs. If by any chance you like the YL02 firmware, you can edit the new MID with MediaCodeSpeedEdit.
