Hi,

i use GK the first time and so i must learn more about it,
and so it would nice when someone can help me !!!

The movie which comes out at the end looks fine at the beginning,
but in the middle the movie looks blurry.
This means that the movie looks fine the first half and blurry
the last half.
So what can i do that the movie looks fine all the time !!!

Thanks in advance

DagMan

i have changed a few times between Bilinear and Soft Bicubic
but there was no difference in the final movie !!!

they are both quite blurry filters, try sharp bicubic

I noticed that doom9 is recommending in the XviD guide to use neutral bicubic. But i just encoded a PAL movie with neutral bicubic and divx4 and the all movie just seems a bit washed out.
Then i encoded the same movie, also with neutral bicubic, but now with XviD and it is more "sharper".
I am saying that maybe is divx4 to blame that some movies sometimes look blurrier.
Do you think that we should use sharp bicubic all the time to alleviate this problem?

This is what I make :D
Sharp bicubic and low noise filters with divx3.11a this is the best.
But I think that neutral bicubic with low noise filter is sometimes enough. noise filter allows to take off these blurry things but to high noise filter will take off the details too.

noise filters do not really take away blurry things, if anything they add to them

ok thanks, i try out sharp bicubic,
but there is another problem with GK,
i can`t select any Trim Option when i save the .avs ?? why ??

and because of the noise filters is it better to
"put the noise filters before resizing" ??
and which is the best

and the last one, what is better fast or smart
deinterlacing (for PAL)

sorry for my bad knowledge about GK :(

Make sure that you press the "set credits start" button in the window that appears after you open your dv2 project.
Don't forget that you have to place the cursor in the beginning of the credits before pressing the button.

HI!
I cant see any effect with t.smoother and sharpbicubic they dont work good together

the effect is definetly noticeable on MOST sources when using sharp bicubic...dont let your single experience fool you

the sharper the resize method use the more impact a smoother will have, do you see?

oh oh
there is the problem, when i select a option in the trim section (for example "BOTH")
the first half of the final movie is fine and the last half
is blurry, but when i select no option in the trim section,
the final movie is ok :) (not perfect but ok).

??why??

What effect have these trim option`s ???

yeah i thought as much from ur last post, sounded suspiciously like that problem
well no worries, you got yourself sorted ... time to get better :)

i suppose i could knock together a short guide on the gknot filters and put it into the gordian knot pages

well the finishing touches still need to be put on my gknot pages, the css file isnt there at the mo :(
but when ive done that and i have finished up what i need to do for uni this week then i will make a nice little guide

prolly post it in the forum first, see what people think/get criticism etc. and then put a more final version into my pages
