sometimes when i've encoded a pal movie and not used deinterlacing its fine, other times i get ghosting and interference in the encoded picture when i play it back on a standalone, when i deinterlace this helps. so which dvd2svcd deinterlacing filter should i use? and should i always deinterlace a pal source? thanx

use the latest build of dvd2svcd
to check if the vobs are interlaced use bitrate viewer
http://www.tecoltd.com/bitratev.htm
you can also just process a small chapter quickly using 1 pass and view the result on your pc
you dont have to use deinterlacing if the soiurce is not interlaced
if it is use the following methods first:
1. telecide(pal)
2. separate fields/selectevery(pal)
