I have the video in MPEG2 format, and audio in .wav. I previewed these both together, and the audio is off, out of sync. I saw on some other threads that people recommended using DVD Meastro, but I don't have that option right now. Does anyone know of anything else to do? I also have the audio in AC3 format and it's having the same problem. I don't care which ends up on the DVD at this point.

Thanks for helping a Newbie!!

From what source is the audio coming from and when does it go out of sync ?

If the original material is from VHS captured with consumer lever deck over Composit video and the audio is going out of sync to the end of the video then to solve it you will have to use a TBC (Time base Corrector) or dub your material to DV and capture from the DV.

If the original audio is 44.1Hz then it also known to create sync errors.
If the original audio was Mp1 Layer 2 audio , converted to .WAV and from there to .AC3 there is not much you can do to fix the sync apart from capturing again with WAV as audio.

What you also might want to try is to trim a small part of the video or the audio in order to force it into sync. This can work if the audio is out of sync from the begining.

It is out of sync from the beginning, about 10 seconds slow. It is in 48Mhz. It was captured from another DVD. I have noidea about the rest of what you say. Sorry.

Thanks
