I couldn’t find this problem elsewhere, and it's the first time it has happened to me in a couple dozen movies. Either using permanent subtitles, SVCD or CVD all the extracted BMPs are black. The number of subtitles seems to be correct. At first I thought it might be the DVD, but if I use subrip 0.97b I can see the subs and extract them to BMPs. In DVD2SVCD's subtitles preview window I can only see the previews of the English subs, all other languages are present but wihtout a preview.
I used 1.0.6. build 1, 1.0.6. build 2-Pre 1 and 1.0.6. build 2. Results are the same: black BMPs. I used internal routines for DVD Rip and from these extracted VOBs I managed to extract readable subs with subrip.
I also tried to fool the program into using the subs extracted by subrip but it didn’t work. I renamed the BMPs extracted with subrip with the same names assigned by DVD2SVCD and replaced them while audio was being extracted. I did notice that subrip’s subtitles were smaller than those extracted by DVD2SVCD so I checked and while DVD2SVCD’s subs are 24bit images, subrip’s are indexed color.
Can I make this work somehow?
