Hi to all,
I have been making Divx-Avis of my DVDs with fairuse, gknot etc. But the problem is: You will only get the movie, no chapters. So my question is: Is there a program or a guide out there that can create something like a miniDVd out of a complete Divx movie ? for me it is only important that i can build a menu and choose the chapter, no subtitles, the language change would be nice, but it does not have to work. I dont have a DVD-R and dont want to have a bad quality or 3 or 4 CD-Rs using MPEG2. There must be something. Please tell me !

thanks in advance

I should add that i dont want to view the movies with a dvd player but with my pc, so that it should be no problem to use Divx

There is a program called MicroDVD which will let you create chapters , subtitles etc. Unfortunately the MicroDVD site does not provide the software for free any more.
However checkout the Doom9 Guides Section.
Guides -> DivX Guides -> DivX4 (or) DivX3.x -> MicroDVD Player Guide.

you can use bsplayer. a little software called chappy can analyse ur ifo file and extract thumbnails from the divx movie according to the chapter and save it as a chapter file for bsplayer, then use chapterXtractor to extract the chapter information and put it into bsplayer ini file (you can even type in the chapter's name), then, in bsplayer, press control+v will bring up a chapter selection screen with all the thumbnails and names (even when the movie is playing),
it works great.

but now i use cce and dvdfusion to reauthor the whole dvd......that's a another issue... hope this helps u.

Thank you both,
I tried micrdvd and now my Harddisk is full with movies sounds files - chaos, but it works. But only on the Harddisk !!!
When i doubleclick the ini file microdvd starts to play my work. But when I it burn on a cd, it doesnt work anymore. When I doubleclick on the ini (or mvd file, it is the same) microdvd opens but doesnt play my compilation (the same compilation is no problem to play from Harddisk!). Also when I try some autorun programs like MDVDAuto186 it only opens MicroDVD and that is it. What is wrong ? I am tired of burning CDs and throwing them out of my window ! Please help

BaronVlad,
The following may be your problem ( even may be not - you might have taken care of it).
Are all your files (AVI, INI) in the same folder? Does your INI file have any directory definitions? Open your INI file in Notepad and check if the directories still references the Hard Drive - since you created the INI file on your Hard Drive.
Since the structure on CD and Hard drive are the same, I do not think you should have any problem.

Thank you,
I now solved the problem:
1. on a CD the ini file has to be named as "mdvd.ini", otherwise it wont work.
2. Everything has to be in the root of the Cd, so I created a CD without subdirectories.
3. I created an autorun.inf that looks as follows:
[autorun]
open=mdvdp.exe mdvd.ini
icon=mdvdp.exe
That means: the first mdvdp.exe is the Player.exe, that is copied into the root of the CD, the second mdvd.ini is the ini file with the menus, it is also in the root !
It works great, but what do I tell you, I think you all know how to do it !
Have a nice rest of the weekend !
