Hi there,
I am authoring a complicated DVD, but I have, i'm afraid, a very basic question... How do you set the next button to be highlighted after the one above has finished playing & has returned you to the menu (so the next button down should be highlighted so all the viewer has to do is press enter)? Basic, probably, but it is foxing me!!!
Thanks

First of all you have to set "Forced Selected Button #" from 1 to Nonexistent (Simulation Window, Subpicture and Highlight, Highlight).
Then set a GPRM in postcommands of your title(s) and use this GPRM to set HL Button in precommand of your menu
Here (http://members.aon.at/video.digital/DEMO.rar) a small example

You can also add a precommand on your title with SetHL-BTN=<number> so at the end (or if the user press the 'Menu' button) the selected button will be the <number> you've specified (you need always to set the forced button to nonexistant as bigotti5 said)

But that technique only works when the video is entered via the buttons, so you would have to disable resume functions and menu calls to guarantee it works perfectly.
Otherwise, you can enter a piece of video, menu out of it half-way through, navigate some buttons on your menu (just pressing up/down/whatever), and then resume the video via the menu button. Now, when you menu out again or the video ends, the highlight will be where ever you left it while clicking around.
Using GPRMs is the only way to guarantee it works no matter what the user does.

Thank you for that, it makes perfect sense now that I think about it!
