virtualdub stuck

I tried selecting a bad capture device in VD, and now every time I start the program it locks up! How can I change/reset the input device without starting the program? where does it store this setting?

Have you tried deleting VirtualDub in its entirety and then setting it up anew?

I believe you have to hold down SHIFT when entering capture mode. This will cause VirtualDub to not preload a capture device.

VirtualDub stores its settings in the registry, but I don't remember the exact location.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VirtualDub.org\VirtualDub\Capture
Delete or modify Startup Driver entry.
