So the results of the inspect program are below, and I'm not sure what I need to do with Win7 to sort things out. I read through the stickies and a bunch of threads dealing with win7, but to no avail.

I have the installed WMP12 player, and downloaded a VC-1 encoder from microsoft. Thanks in advance for the assistance!

- Windows Version: 6.1 [7600]
- AVISYNTH Version: 2.5.7.0, Ok
- HAALI Splitter: Ok
- FFDSHOW: 3326, Ok
- WIN7 preferred AVC CODEC: Not Set correctly
- WIN7 preferred VC-1 CODEC: Not Set correctly
- WIN7 preferred MPEG2 CODEC: Not Set correctly
- FFDSHOW VC-1 set incorrectly: [0]
- FFDSHOW MPEG2 set to "libmpeg2": Ok
- FFDSHOW AVC set to "libavcodec": Ok
- BD Rebuilder v0.34.0.2, Ok
- X264: Ok
- AFTEN: Ok
- FAAC: Ok
- MP4BOX: Ok
- WAVI: Ok
- TSMUXER: Ok

When you run BD-RB the first time, right click on the EXE and select "Run as Admin" (you only have to do this the first time it runs). Then when it asks whether to change thing... let it do so. It's probably trying to set the preferred codecs but doesn't have privilege.

The VC-1 setting still has to be set to FFDSHOW regardless of what you have downloaded for encoding.

Thanks, for the prompt response. I'll give it a try tonight. When I chose to allow bd-rb to fix the codec issue, I was getting a run this as administrator prompt, but then got an error (as you surmised). I was logged in as the administrator, so wasn't sure what I was missing.

Cheers!

Yep, right click and run as admin allowed BDRB to fix the settings, and all seems well. Thanks!!!
