Chapter markers in MP4

Does anyone know how I might be able to add chapter markers to an .mp4 file? I've tried using DVB Portal MP4Muxer which worked well with the exception that I had to rename the file with a .m4v extension, and then when I play it in Quicktime it says the movie is 45 hours long (although the file size is not any larger than normal). I'm using a PC, so please don't bother informing me of any Mac-only software.

Any of the MP4Box-based tools should be able to do this. I know using the MP4Box CLI app from MeGUI does it, and I imagine YAMB probably does as well.

Yep, YAMB supports the creation of chapters and chapter naming, in the following way: -

00:00:00.000 Chapter 01 - The Beginning

Just-so-as-you-know and as far as I know, QT7 player does not support chapter navigation.

of course it supports chapter navigation (apple style, NOT nero style)...i just test it (QT 7.6.5)...
