I have usually used VSrip to pull subtitles when I have had the need. Recently, the idx files it creates stops at 39ish minutes on some dvd's.

So, I have switched to using eac3to to pull out the subtitle sup files and have used subtitlecreator to save as vobsub idx.

This is working good.. However, a couple of DVD I have noticed have a subtitle track (SRT) listed.. When extracted with eac3to it seems to be a mix of dialogue and closed caption.. What are these tracks??

DVD's noticed on are Primer and Kiss kiss bang bang..

example output...

c:\wrk\> eac3to VTS_02_1.vob 6: sub.srt

VOB, 1 video track, 3 audio tracks, 3 subtitle tracks, 1:17:12
1: MPEG2, 480i60 /1.001 (16:9)
